Who are we?

Well, it all started a few years ago when we heard digital TV was on its way to New Zealand. Some of New Zealand's leading broadcasters, including TVNZ, Mediaworks (the owners of TV3 and C4), Maori Television Service, and Radio New Zealand, decided it was a great opportunity to combine forces and create Freeview, to let NZ know all about the benefits of free digital TV and radio.

We're a not-for-profit organisation and we now we have a total of 27 television and radio channels*, and there are more to come, too. So sit back, relax and enjoy from the comfort of your couch.
